The second edition of CDI Lier was fantastic! The Belgian dressage competition had an international field of participants and the Verwimp riders performed very well. Some of the highlights were the second place of Jorinde & Kastar Hof ter Zeedycke D’12 (by Game-Boy D’10) in the Prix St. Georges and in the Intermediaire I Freestyle. Fanny Verliefden and Elroy (by Johnson) also became second; they won silver in the Intermediaire I!

Prix St. Georges
The first performance of the Verwimp riders was during the Prix St. Georges on February 28th. Jorinde about her test: “Kastar is still young so we always prepare ourselves lightly for a competition. He picks everything up very easily, so the preparation is really just a refreshment for the competition! He gave me a super feeling throughout the test. Unfortunately, we had one very expensive mistake after the first pirouette. He jumped over. But for the rest it was a very nice test! “The judges agreed, because they got a total score of 71.441% and finished second. Click here to view their test.

Fanny Verliefden also entered the arena of the Prix St. Georges. She participated with her talented Johnson son Elroy. The combination finished fifth with a neat score of 69.147%. Veronique Philippaerts-Engelen and Wendor (by Kennedy) received a percentage of 64.824%.

Intermediare I
During the Intermediare I that took place on Saturday morning, Fanny, Veronique and Danique participated with their top horses. Fanny put down a wonderful test with Elroy with which she scored 69.294%. With this the combination finished in second place. Fanny: “I really notice that Elroy is getting better and better. And he felt great this time too! “Veronique and Wendor finished eighth with a score of 66.676% and Danique van Zwol and Zeldzaam received a score of 63.500%.

Intermediaire I Freestyle
The Intermediaire I Freestyle took place on Saturday evening. Jorinde and Kastar once again managed to win second place. This time with a score of 74.825%! The combination finished behind Danielle Heijkoop with Daula. Jorinde: “Kastar was somewhat tense during the Freestyle, but we still managed to put down a flawless test. I am extremely proud of him. Also the atmosphere in Lier was really great. It is an awesone competition to ride! We will certainly participate again next year! ”
