Last weekend Jumping Mechelen 2018 took place in the Nekkerhal. A very nice edition for Dressuurstal Verwimp with the farewell of Tiamo, the first edition of ‘Battle of the Disciplines’ and a beautiful third place for Jorinde and Takki who has shown his best side in the Prix St. Georges.

Farewell Tiamo
On Saturday afternoon there was a special moment after the World Cup dressage where the audience could say goodbye to Tiamo. In a crowded stadium everyone could enjoy the wonderful combination once more. Timmie competed his last test in Mechelen finishing at the 11th place in the Grand Prix (68.587%) and eighth place in the Kur (74.120%) with this score they were the best Belgium combination. Jorinde and Tiamo have been a combination for eight years.

Battle of the Disciplines
On Christmas Day, this year for the first time the show ‘Battle of the Disciplines’ was ridden. Both Jorinde and Wim participated in this well-received competition. The concept is as follows: teams are made of eventing, jumping and dressage riders. All riders must ride a test in their own and another discipline. In dressage Wim had to compete against Jorinde while Jorinde had to jump a jumping course. Eventually the team Alex Fairchild won, Wim, Wouter Decleen and Dominique Hendrickx where the team members. Jorinde her team Lannoo Voeders finished in fourth place.

Jorinde not only performed Tiamo at Jumping Mechelen, but also Kastar Hof Ter Zeedycke a.k.a. Taki. On Friday, the duo gained a nice third place in the Prix St. George (70.441%). On Saturday they became second in the Freestyle of the Inter 1 (74,9%).
