Wim Verwimp and Jedai de Massa: Grand Prix Success with Strong Breeding Foundation

The ten-year-old gelding Jedai de Massa (Don Juan de Hus x Mina de la Font by Galopin de la Font), owned by Eon Jin Chin, demonstrates with Wim Verwimp that he has everything needed for the highest level.

The gelding hails from the breeding program of Sylvain Massa, a name renowned in the dressage world for his thoughtful combinations of modern dressage lines with Lusitano blood. With horses like Vodka de Massa and now Jedai de Massa, this breeder has proven his eye for horses with both talent and presence.

In 2024, Jedai de Massa made his international Grand Prix debut under Wim in Ermelo, followed by strong performances at Indoor Friesland (64.544% GP and 71.955% Freestyle), CDN Bocholt (2nd place, 70.890%), and CDN Turnhout (2nd place, 70.489%).

This season, that success continued internationally: in April, the pair achieved a highlight with a personal best of 70.656% and victory in Aachen. At CHIO Rotterdam, Wim and Jedai scored 68.587% in the Grand Prix and 73.280% in the Freestyle, contributing to Belgium’s bronze team medal. They have also been named first reserve for the European Championships in Crozet, France.

With Jedai de Massa, Sylvain Massa’s breeding once again proves its strength: elegant, willing horses that stand out on the highest stage.
