Farewell to Charmer at Jumping Amsterdam 2026
Jumping Amsterdam 2026 became a competition with an extra emotional layer for Jorinde Verwimp. In the impressive RAI Arena, she rode her final international competition with Charmer, the horse with whom she shared a special sporting journey over the past seven years.
Seven years together
Jorinde took Charmer on as a young horse and developed him step by step, with great patience and dedication. From the first competitions at lower levels to ultimately performing at Grand Prix level, every stage was carefully and thoughtfully built. Jumping Amsterdam therefore marked a fitting and emotional finale to a long-standing partnership, before Charmer continues his career with a new rider.
Two tests in Amsterdam
In the Grand Prix, the test started cautiously, with a small imperfection that unfortunately cost valuable points. As the test progressed, however, Jorinde and Charmer visibly regained their rhythm, particularly in the canter work, where the combination found its balance again. This resulted in a 14th place with a score of 66.065%.
In the freestyle to music, Jorinde and Charmer showed once more what they were capable of together. With increased expression, relaxation, and collection, the test developed into a strong farewell, earning them a 13th place with 74.255% A fitting conclusion to their shared story.
Wim Verwimp and Jedai de Massa
Wim Verwimp also competed in Amsterdam with Jedai de Massa. In the Grand Prix, he finished in 11th place with 68.696%, followed by a 14th place in the freestyle to music with a score of 72.965%.
One chapter closes, a new one begins
With the farewell to Charmer, Jorinde closes a very special chapter. For seven years, horse and rider grew together, experiencing highlights, learning moments, and showing unwavering dedication along the way. Jumping Amsterdam 2026 thus became not only a sporting event, but above all a warm and dignified farewell.
