A busy week at CDI Lier for Dressage stable Verwimp

We are very pleased that we have been able to contribute to this wonderful event again this year.

Last week, our riders Jorinde Verwimp, Elise Verwimp, Eline Borrey de Coninick and Veronique Philippaerts-Engelen participated in various competitions at CDI. Here were the highlights:

Yesterday was a special day for Rubis Rose!

This beautiful 7-year-old gelding rode his very first competition ever, under the guidance of Jorinde Verwimp. It was a practice competition in preparation for the upcoming season in Oud Turnhout. In the video you get a short impression of how Rubis Rose did!

In addition, Jorinde also participated in a practice competition in Someren with Ruut Pasgang’s gelding, James Pleasure. For him this meant his first Grand Prix and there are some points to work on, but the result is certainly promising and shows a lot of talent for the future.

Charmer was also on hand in Someren to practice for the CDI Le Mans next week. Will we see you there?

Dressage stable Verwimp was present yesterday at the CDN 101 in Zandhoven!

Jorinde Verwimp rode several tests in the young horses and achieved the following results:

  • Together with Virano in the 6-year-olds a score of 79.4%.
  • Together with Nixon in the 6-year-olds a score of 79.2%.
  • And together with Tap Dancer van het Gendelaar in the 5-year-olds a score of 75%.

Maline van Tulder and Elise Verwimp competed in the junior team test:

  • Maline together with Emmerson achieved 2nd place with a score of 66.4%.
  • Eline and Just A Little Bit Krack v/h Klaverhof achieved 3rd place with a score of 66,2%.

Maline also rode Lex in the individual test for the ponies and here she came in first with a score of 67%!

Maïte Mouchard rode the young riders team test with Dare 2 Wear and received a score of 65,6%.

Finally, the Inter 1 was ridden by Jorinde Verwimp and Veronique Philippaerts-Engelen:

  • Jorinde took first place with Vicomte De Reyves with a score of 71.9%.
  • Veronique achieved 6th place with Golddream Vd Kempenhoeve with a score of 67.5%.

We are very proud of our riders and the successful start of 2024 for them and the horses!

Time for a Q&A with Jorinde Verwimp!

Recently Jorinde held a Q&A on her Instagram story. Here 2 questions came up around what the competition days look like for the horses and below we share the answers. Do you also have a question for Jorinde? Let us know at our Facebook page and we will try to answer them next time!

What do competition days look like for the horses in terms of riding and exercise?

With Charmer I usually ride or walk in the ring in the morning. With most of the other horses I walk in hand 2x a day before and after riding, depending on the starting times.

What do the days after a multi-day competition look like for your horses?

After his last competition, Charmer had a few days of rest where he goes in the horse walker and loose in the arena (now that the pastures are too wet). After about 3 days we started to ease back into work to train for the next competition!

Great performance in London for Jorinde Verwimp!

Last week the London International Horse show took place and Jorinde attended. In the Grand Prix she and Charmer had an expensive mistake in the 2nd piaffe, which pushed the score to 67%. But the freestyle went much better and here they scored 74,4% !

P.S. Did you know that Jorinde Charmer rides an Albion Saddle?

Three podium places in Turnhout!

Maline van Tulder came first at the Pony individual yesterday! Together with Lex, they achieved a score of 70%.

Kris Schepkens came 3rd with Rose Jolie during the PSG with a score of 69,7%!

It was also an exciting day for Jorinde Verwimp, she rode with Vicomte de Reyves his Inter 1 debut and with success! They narrowly missed out on first place, but a score of 69.4% and a second place is definitely something to be proud of for an Inter 1 debut!

Limited Edition had his PSG debut last weekend!

Ruut Pasgang is enjoying her maternity leave and so Jorinde Verwimp got to ride her dressage talent Limited Edition in Zandhoven yesterday. For the 7-year-old this was his first PSG test and together they achieved 3rd place with 67.6%!

With Charmer, Jorinde competed in the Grand Prix. Unfortunately, they had an expensive mistake in the canter pirouette which dropped their score to 69,1%. However, this was still enough for a great 2nd place!

3 times success for dressage stable Verwimp!

Last weekend we were present in Dentergem. Emma Driesen achieved the first place in the Inter 1 with Gelinia Van Kairos with 68.7%. Jorinde Verwimp competed with Karnival in the PSG and came second with 68.7%!

Yesterday Jorinde and Tap Dancer competed in the Corsendonk Dressage Cup 2023 for 4-year-olds. Out of 34 starters they finished in 10th place with 75,5%.
